About The Position

ProcessBarron is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components used in structural assemblies and industrial equipment. This position requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, perform quality welds in multiple positions, operate fabrication equipment safely, and maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous welding and fabrication experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications.
  • Working knowledge of welding techniques, metal fabrication methods, and welding safety practices.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Read Blueprints and/or Drawings
  • Use Welding material per provided drawings.
  • Communicate defects to manager.
  • Attend scheduled safety meetings.
  • Enforce all applicable safety policies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Promote safety among co-workers.
  • Participate in Behavior Based Safety program.
  • Assist in use of portable grinder, hand file, and/or scraper as necessary
  • Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves and angles
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Problem Solving – Ability to read blueprints
  • Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed.
  • Must be able to multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs.

  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Will be working at times in covered environment or in an outside environment.
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Particles.
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
  • Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial manufacturing or fabrication experience.
  • Structural welding experience.
  • Welding certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding operations in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Lay out, fit, and fabricate structural and metal components according to specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Operate welding, forming, cutting, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Design, modify, and fabricate parts to meet production and customer requirements.
  • Repair, modify, and rebuild existing equipment and assemblies as needed.
  • Work with various metals, metal sheets, and insulation materials during fabrication processes.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, grinders, and measuring devices to complete assigned work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Verify dimensions and specifications before, during, and after fabrication.
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Report discrepancies, defects, or quality concerns to supervision promptly.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify grooves, angles, dimensions, and fit.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled safety meetings and training.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Promote safe work practices among team members.
  • Participate in the company's Behavior-Based Safety Program.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Safely operate portable grinders, power saws, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Perform basic equipment inspections prior to use.
  • Assist production activities as needed to support departmental goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
