About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to fabricate, assemble, weld, and repair structural steel and sheet metal components for a variety of custom manufacturing projects. This hands-on role requires experience with multiple welding processes, blueprint interpretation, metal fabrication equipment, and quality workmanship. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, safety-conscious, and capable of taking projects from layout through final weld while maintaining high quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited welding program or a minimum of 5 years of documented welding/fabrication experience.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding processes.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain AWS and/or ASME welding certifications.
  • Strong blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation skills.
  • Experience operating fabrication and machine shop equipment.
  • Ability to fabricate projects independently from layout through final assembly.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and structural steel fabrication techniques.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials.
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with precision tools.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with temperature variations, welding operations, and other industrial conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of ISO quality systems and manufacturing documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding on structural steel, sheet metal, and various metal alloys.
  • Fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Set up and fit parts for welding using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Lay out projects from start to finish, including material preparation, cutting, fitting, and final welding.
  • Repair cracked or damaged metal components as required.
  • Cut metal using oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, and other cutting equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including drill presses, punch presses, grinders, beveling machines, spot welders, flangers, lathes, and other shop equipment.
  • Perform fabrication and assembly of standardized sheet metal and structural steel products.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable ASME, AWS, and company quality standards.
  • Complete work in accordance with production schedules and customer quality requirements.
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Follow company procedures, work instructions, and ISO quality standards.
  • Handle materials properly to minimize waste and maintain product integrity.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and cost.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Properly maintain personal tools and company equipment.
  • Participate in cross-training and support other production functions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and production team members regarding project status and production priorities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
