Position Summary In this role, the Welder / Brazer will support our Magnetics and Machining departments by performing precision welding, brazing and mechanical assembly. You will work directly with technical drawings to fabricate high-quality components, playing a critical role in our electronics manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet production deadlines. Given the complex nature of the products, there will be significant hands-on training and interaction with various Magna-Power teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in MIG (GMAW) welding (Required).
  • Must be able to pass a TIG welding test (Required).
  • High school diploma or GED (Required).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools and the ability to read and understand complex technical blueprints and schematics (Required).
  • Experience working in a production or assembly environment (Required).
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, particularly when working with small instruments and precision components (Required).
  • Strong time management skills with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines(Required).
  • Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and sit for extended periods, and consistently lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • TIG (GTAW) welding, soldering and/or brazing experience (Preferred).
  • Knowledge and understanding of BOMs, assembly drawings and other related manufacturing documents (Preferred).
  • Previous experience in equipment maintenance or troubleshooting (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on steel according to print and project specifications.
  • Perform precision brazing operations to join metal components, ensuring strong, clean joints according to technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components and products.
  • Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and aligning parts prior to welding.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure components are aligned and assembled correctly.
  • Provide general support to the Machining department as needed based on workload and schedule, including packaging and shipment preparation, material cutting, and other production tasks.
  • Safely operate fabrication equipment, including saws, sanders, grinders, and other various cutting tools.
  • Identify faulty components and inspect welded surfaces to ensure they meet our high quality standards.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace.
  • Complete all necessary production paperwork and record keeping accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to manage equipment, resources, and project timelines.
