About The Position

Holman is seeking a Welder/Fabricator for their 1st shift in Bartlett, IL. This role involves fabricating components using various welding and fabrication processes, reading blueprints, and ensuring components meet customer requirements. The position is Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. Holman is a family-owned, global automotive services organization with a strong emphasis on core values and creating positive relationships. The company serves various automotive markets including fleet management, vehicle fabrication, component manufacturing, powertrain distribution, insurance, and retail automotive sales.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a vocational/technical welding program or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 3–5 years of welding experience in a fabrication environment
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints (not all prints include weld symbols, so the ability to interpret and adjust is important)
  • Strong MIG welding skills in steel and aluminum
  • Experience with cutting, drilling, grinding, and general fabrication tools
  • Ability to visualize finished assemblies prior to welding
  • Understanding of welding and fabrication safety practices
  • Ability to weld in all positions and consistently produce quality welds
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Must pass a physical, drug test, and criminal background check prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS certification preferred
  • TIG welding experience preferred
  • Stainless MIG/TIG a plus
  • Flux core experience a plus
  • Lifting and rigging experience a plus
  • Overhead crane experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate components using cutting, MIG and TIG welding, drilling, and related processes to complete assigned projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and written specifications to ensure components meet customer requirements
  • Measure, square, and fit weldments during production
  • Set up and adjust welding machines for various material types and thicknesses to produce high-quality welds
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
  • Build components ranging from small parts to medium-sized bodies
  • Follow Holman and OSHA safety standards; maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and team members to meet project timelines
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any issues promptly
  • Track materials used, work completed, and hours worked; provide progress updates as needed
  • Verify incoming and completed parts and stage them for the next phase of production
  • Maintain required personal tools
  • Support overtime or alternate shifts as needed
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
