About The Position

The Welder Assistant performs a variety of duties to assist the Welder under the supervision and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. This role requires the use of various tools and equipment to clean, cut, and heat metals. The position also emphasizes maintaining a clean work area and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Requirements

• Must be able to read and calculate measurements

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working in welding/maintenance

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of tools to clean and cut metals (i.e. grinder, chop saw)
• Uses additional equipment to cut and heat metals (i.e. oxygen/acetylene torch, plasma cutter)
• Keeps the work area clean and organized
• Must be able to stand between 2 – 3 hours at a time.
• Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of a company approved frock, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco.
