About The Position

Wilson Trailer is hiring full-time Welders/Assemblers for its manufacturing operation in Yankton, South Dakota. This is an opportunity to work for a leader in the truck trailer industry. The position is on the night shift, currently scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and includes a $1.75-per-hour shift differential. The company offers an attractive starting wage with scheduled increases and a full benefit package.

The role involves inspecting hoist chains and tools for safety, using handheld tools, understanding production and print orders, and maintaining an organized work area. Applicants should have mechanical aptitude, good attendance, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work with others in a busy workplace. A pre-employment drug test and background check are required.

Requirements

• High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• At least eighteen years of age.
• Current welding certification.
• Mechanical aptitude, good attendance, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work with others in a busy workplace.
• Average computer skills, including locating prints and enlarging them to clarify orders occasionally.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely in English.
• Ability to meet the stated physical demands and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow safety rules and regulations.
• Pre-employment drug test required.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections of hoist chains and all tools used.
• Use a huck gun, drill, and other handheld tools.
• Read and understand production and print orders.
• Read and understand a tape measure.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
