About The Position

Temp TKO Staffing LLC is a nationally recognized staffing firm supporting clients across the Northwest Indiana area. TKO is currently looking for candidates who are dedicated and dependable to fill full-time welding openings in Merrillville, Indiana. Qualified candidates will be quick learners with hand and power tool experience, technical aptitude, and strong attention to detail. You must be team oriented, punctual, and enjoy meeting challenges head on. The right candidate will be trained to work in our fabrication shop. Some welding experience is required.

Requirements

• Regard for quality, accuracy, and safety
• Ability to read a tape measure as well as add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions
• Work in a team environment to accomplish goals
• Comply with handbook policies and all safety rules
• Purchase and maintain required tools
• Read and write English
• Minimal offsite and overnight travel may be required
• Physically able to lift/pull/drag material up to 100 lbs, stand/sit/kneel up to and including 8 hour shift, climb and work from ladders and lifts throughout 8 hour shifts with no limitations concerning range of motion
• Some welding experience is required

Responsibilities

• Measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing materials as required to complete tarping system installations and repairs
• Operating equipment including but not limited to: saws, drills, grinders/buffers, plasma cutters, MIG welder/torches, fork lifts, scissors lifts, pallet jacks, driving a yard truck
• Reading and interpreting team leader instructions and written orders
• Repair customer equipment as required using equipment previously listed
• Meeting/exceeding customer requirements for production and quality
• Pay close attention to detail to ensure proper function and performance of installed/fabricated parts
• Notify supervisor when item is complete and ready for inspection
• Packaging/labeling items according to production guidelines
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Welding aluminum and steel using MIG welder (if able)
