Under supervision of Welder Foreman or work direction of Welder A Leader, performs electric arc and oxy-acetylene welding in the field according to Detroit Edison Specification 308 Part - A.-on alloy steel piping, tubing, fittings and valves for high pressure, high temperature power and heating plant services. Checks alloy steel to be welded for proper preheated temperatures. Welds dissimilar alloy steel metal objects. Performs flame cutting, heating and welding. Checks blue prints for proper welding requirements. Determines if pieces to be welded are properly fitted for welding. Observes Company rules and regulations covering safety and safe working conditions. Directs work or assigned Welder Chipper.
