About The Position

As a Welder 1, you will fabricate metal structures and components using various welding techniques. You will work from blueprints and other technical drawings to produce high-quality welds that meet industry standards. The role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, basic math skills, the ability to use measuring tools, and the ability to work in various positions. You will also collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and stay up-to-date on welding techniques and technologies.

Requirements

0–3 years of welding experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail.
Manual dexterity.
Basic math skills.
Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and working overhead.

Responsibilities

Use MIG and TIG welding techniques to join metal components.
Weld in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
Adjust welding equipment settings to achieve the desired weld quality.
Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using various tools and equipment.
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
Ensure accurate measurements and tolerances.
Inspect welds for quality and conformance to specifications.
Identify and correct welding defects.
Follow safety regulations and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Stay up-to-date on welding techniques and technologies.
Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.
Identify and troubleshoot welding problems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
