A Welder/ Weld Trainee provides welding support as part of a team working on either Standard and/or Special assembled service bodies as well as small parts. The role involves welding together structural (Aluminum and Galvanized Steel) metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions in flat, vertical or overhead positions. Responsibilities include monitoring welding processes to avoid issues like overheating or warping, completing inline quality inspections, and maintaining weld quality according to established guidelines. The position also requires completing welding station tasks within established tak time, cross-training on multiple welding workstations, and performing tasks in multiple stations to fill staffing gaps. Recognizing, setting up, and operating hand and power tools, including welding equipment, is also a key part of the role.
