The Oshkosh Corporation Vocational segment is establishing a new presence in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and is seeking to assemble a high-performing team. Requirements

  • Six (6) months of applicable position experience or an evaluated equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read blueprints with GDT Tolerancing.
  • Ability to use Coordinate Measurement Systems and 3-D Scanners.
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience utilizing basic measuring tools such as measuring tapes and check gauges.
  • Welding knowledge experience and knows AWT.
  • Understand Welding Symbols

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all functional areas produce parts or products that meet designed intent and customer expectations regarding machine performance.
  • Verifying adherence to Standard Work and reporting any nonconformance.
  • Writing reports and gathering data beyond the scope of assembly team members.
  • Communicating customer expectations.
  • Confirming all functional testing has been completed and documented per business test procedures.
  • Verifying the operational stability of all new product during startup and reporting performance to engineering and Top Management.
  • Navigating computer system programs (MDS, QMS, JDE) for quality reporting.
  • Interpreting assembly, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic prints and schematics, including GDT, and using inspection hand tools (go/no-go, thread gauges, calipers, tape) for verification.
  • Understanding paint quality expectations using the A-B-C surface method and basic paint inspection tools (surface finish gauge, thickness gauge).
  • Verifying that all manufactured items and/or assemblies comply with Engineering and Quality Control specifications throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Understanding basic weld symbols, their meaning, and usage on blueprints/drawings, and performing weld compliance inspections using size weld gages, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle.
  • Ensuring production tools follow calibration procedures and identifying non-compliant tools.
  • Partnering with Supervisors and the production team to provide customer service, including process control and quality service, and effectively communicating quality updates/changes.
  • Performing basic root cause analysis on quality defects.
