About The Position

The 2nd Shift weld associate position is responsible for fitting and welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel parts using a MIG and TIG process. The position communicates with co-workers, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.

Requirements

  • Fitting and welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel parts using a MIG and TIG process
  • Ability to read job specifications such as blueprints, calipers, and measurements
  • Ability to determine appropriate equipment and methods
  • Ability to set up, adjust and operate equipment
  • Ability to maintain equipment
  • Ability to ensure work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards
  • Ability to monitor work equipment
  • Ability to operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment
  • Ability to inspect weld surfaces and structure
  • Ability to tack assemblies together
  • Ability to repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes
  • Ability to identify, tag and remove non-conforming materials
  • Ability to accurately complete all required paperwork
  • Ability to communicate with other departments
  • Ability to keep work areas clean and organized
  • Adherence to all company rules and policies

Responsibilities

  • Read job specifications such as blueprints, calipers, and measurements to determine layout and procedures with supervision
  • Determine the appropriate equipment and methods based on requirements
  • Set up, adjust and operate equipment to fabricate parts to specifications
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Ensure work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards
  • Monitor work equipment to ensure usage is within optimum temperature to avoid overheating or expansion
  • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions to weld structural metal to specifications
  • Inspect weld surfaces and structure to ensure accuracy and discover flaws
  • Tacks assemblies together
  • Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes
  • Identify, tag and remove non-conforming materials
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Communicate with other departments as necessary
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Adhere to all company rules and policies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
