About The Position
The Grand Rapids Kroc Center is seeking a Welcome Desk Attendant to provide world-class customer service with an attitude of Christian hospitality. This role involves performing point-of-sales transactions, handling all Welcome Desk duties, serving customers, clients, and members, managing incoming calls, greeting visitors, and responding to emails. The attendant will also direct calls to the appropriate program or staff member in a timely manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalency, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in customer service and cash handling related industries.
- Must have excellent computer skills; experience in working with Microsoft Office products, cash handling, and register sales. Computer database application experience helpful. Ability to use new software programs with basic training.
- Must have command of the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Must comply with all applicable business, employment and copyright laws.
- Must uphold and enhance public appreciation and trust for the fitness industry.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all clients’ information.
- Must have, or be able to obtain within the first 30 days of employment, First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Nice To Haves
- Spanish language proficiency preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide world class customer service to the community; see that all customers, clients and members are given prompt and courteous service, with an attitude of Christian hospitality.
- Perform point of sales (POS) transactions/CCMS functions at the Welcome Desk.
- Perform all Welcome Desk duties.
- Serve customers, clients and membership.
- Receive and handle incoming telephone calls, greet visitors and respond to emails in a friendly and business-like manner.
- Direct calls to appropriate program/staff in a timely manner.
