About The Position

Our Welcome Center Specialists provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for our guests, ensuring that every visitor has a positive first impression and memorable experience from the moment they arrive. This role demonstrates excellent customer service, acts as a resource for guests, and promotes Museum attendance, membership, exhibits, programs, events, and gift shop purchases.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of hospitality and customer service at the Welcome Center to provide a friendly, professional, and efficient guest experience.
  • Proactively build understanding and familiarity with all Museum services, programs, events, membership benefits, and gift shop products to act as a resource for guests and promote Museum experiences.
  • Foster positive interactions with children and their grown-ups.
  • Process daily admissions, membership sales, gift shop purchases, and program registrations and arrivals.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and inviting Welcome Desk environment that creates a positive visual first impression for all guests.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for visitor inquiries, complaints, and special requests, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • Support memorable, engaging experiences for groups, such as field trips, birthday parties, and community organizations.
  • Assist in the delivery of off-site programs and outreach experiences that extend the Museum’s impact beyond its walls.
  • Assist with gift shop inventory sorting, storing, and restocking.
  • Other duties as assigned.
