About The Position

The Weis2Go Sales Associate supports online customer orders and store checkout operations. The associate greets customers, answers questions, resolves concerns professionally, identifies and shops customer orders promptly, and contacts customers by phone about questions or concerns. The role also involves operating checkout equipment and registers, handling transactions and payments accurately, maintaining cash security and accounting procedures, and following rules for tobacco and alcohol sales. The associate maintains department sanitation and health and safety standards, cooperates with coworkers and supervisors, works to improve job performance, uses company-provided personal protective equipment, and may assist in other departments. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Completed or working toward a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
No prior experience required.
Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without an accommodation.

Responsibilities

Smile and greet customers, answer questions, and promptly resolve customer concerns politely and professionally.
Follow company checkout policies to support customer satisfaction.
Identify and shop customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring orders are accurate and fresh.
Contact customers by phone to address questions or concerns.
Operate front-end scanning equipment and registers, complete checkout procedures, bag merchandise efficiently, and place merchandise in customers’ carts.
Operate console and picker devices to ensure accuracy.
Maintain knowledge of weekly advertisements, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions.
Accurately process transactions, ensure all items are charged, and collect appropriate funds, including cash, checks, electronic payments, and coupons.
Follow cash drawer accounting and security procedures to avoid overages and shortages.
Follow store and legal guidelines regarding the sale of tobacco and alcohol.
Maintain department sanitation by following cleaning schedules and guidelines, keeping work areas and equipment clean and maintained, meeting health and OSHA requirements, and properly disposing of trash.
Cooperate with coworkers and supervisors to support smooth department and store operations.
Continuously improve job performance.
Use company-provided personal protective equipment, including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
Assist in other departments when called upon.
