About The Position

Kemp Quarries is a leading producer of construction aggregates, primarily crushed stone, sand, and gravel, sourced from natural deposits. Their mining process involves drilling, blasting, crushing, and screening to meet customer specifications. These aggregates are essential for various construction applications, including base material for infrastructure like highways and runways, water filtration, erosion control (Rip Rap), and as raw materials for buildings, roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, commercial spaces, sewer systems, and airports. Aggregates have been fundamental to construction for millennia due to their durability and versatility. Kemp Quarries, a privately-owned group, supplies these materials across Eastern Oklahoma, Southern Missouri, and Western Arkansas.

Requirements

  • Very reliable work attendance (M - F, 5:00am - 4:00pm); Occasional Saturdays possible
  • Capable of working either individually or within small work groups
  • Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills
  • Excellent social skills
  • Possess good phone skills
  • Experience in operating computers and utilizing computer programs
  • Capable of performing the physical, mental and emotional requirements of the job
  • Must be able to accurately make change for cash sales and reconcile petty cash daily
  • Submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity (valid driver’s license. Birth certificate, Green Card, etc.) within three days of being hired.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all safety rules and regulations
  • Self-identify and rectify all safety hazards within the work environment
  • Keep work spaces clean and orderly
  • Operate a computer for generating sales tickets
  • Update computer master files by verifying and entering data
  • Document product orders from customers over the telephone or in person
  • Answer customer questions regarding product application, availability and price
  • Schedules truck delivery of some customer orders by examining destination, route, rate and delivery time
  • Arrange timely product delivery to the customers by dispatching internal or external haulers; relay accurate directions and delivery instructions to haulers
  • Keeps customers informed of shipment time and order status
  • Weighs trucks over truck scale, generates scale tickets, distributes tickets internally and externally
  • Run gradations on materials for QC requirements as needed
