About The Position

Veterinary Care & Specialty Group (VCSG) is seeking an experienced Triage Veterinary Technician to join their Emergency team. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient patient flow and timely care in a busy emergency setting. The technician will be responsible for assessing incoming patients, communicating with families, supporting veterinarians, and performing technical procedures. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, thrives under pressure, and is committed to providing excellent patient care.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of proven veterinary experience, (specialty or emergency experience preferred)
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
Proficient in advanced venipuncture, IV catheterization, in-house diagnostics, and medical calculations.
Well-versed in emergency protocols, CPR, "Fear Free" handling, and the "5 Rights of Medications".

Nice To Haves

Credentialed veterinary technicians preferred

Responsibilities

Assess incoming patients.
Keep the ER flowing smoothly.
Maintain clear, compassionate communication with patient families.
Support veterinarians and specialists during exams and emergency procedures.
Perform technical expertise in phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, advanced anesthesia monitoring, and diagnostics.
Maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
Handle emergency protocols, CPR, and "Fear Free" handling.
Administer medications following the "5 Rights of Medications".
