About The Position

The Waitstaff/Server’s day-to-day work includes routinely setting up, clearing and cleaning and resetting dining room. You would be taking menu orders and serving residents and guests meals in a timely and gracious manner. You will be providing quality customer service to residents and guests. This is a part-time position with shifts from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM on weekends (Friday-Sunday).

Requirements

  • Prior food service, fast food or restaurant experience.
  • Must be available to work weekends.
  • Responsible for adhering to HIPPA privacy rules and company policies, procedures and practices which require that resident-identifiable health information will only be used to perform the essential functions of this job.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with seniors.
  • Food Handler’s or ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up, clearing, cleaning, and resetting the dining room.
  • Taking menu orders and serving meals to residents and guests in a timely and gracious manner.
  • Providing quality customer service to residents and guests.
  • Greeting residents and guests promptly as they arrive at their table.
  • Recording accurate food and beverage orders and inputting them into the POS system.
  • Explaining menu items, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Informing guests of daily specials and making recommendations.
  • Attending pre-shift meetings, listening to menu descriptions and taking notes.
  • Carrying service trays with correct placement of orders for efficient service of food and beverages.
  • Completing bussing, runner, meal plater, utility, and catering duties as needed or assigned.
  • Refilling beverages throughout meal service.
  • Handling guest complaints in a positive and professional manner, referring to supervisor as appropriate.
  • Working all shifts and holidays as assigned.
  • Performing catering function set up, break down, and service as assigned.
  • Maintaining front of house and kitchen sanitation requirements.
  • Communicating appropriately with supervisors and dining room staff.
  • Setting tables with silverware, saucers, bread plates, cups, water glasses, etc.
  • Filling water pitchers, coffee pots, napkin and bread baskets.
  • Preparing juice and milk or milk carts.
  • Folding napkins, placing butter and creamers, jellies.
  • Preparing and overseeing buffets and salad bars.
  • Waiting on residents, taking orders, serving food, beverages, and desserts.
  • Serving desserts and salads.
  • Cleaning off dishes as residents finish eating.
  • Handling food in accordance with sanitary and recognized food serving standards.
  • Adhering to HIPPA privacy rules and company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Performing related duties as assigned.
