About The Position

The Weekend RN will administer skilled nursing care for terminally ill patients of all ages in their place of residence. This role also involves triaging calls after business hours and evaluating patients' appropriateness for Hospice services. The position offers a shift differential for working weekends.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
Current State license as a Registered Nurse
Current State Driver's License
Reliable transportation
Valid and current auto liability insurance
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move patients
Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Nice To Haves

Two years experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical care setting
Hospice or home health experience preferred
Specialized skills in palliation and end-of-life

Responsibilities

Administer skilled nursing care for terminally ill patients of all ages in their place of residence.
Triage calls after business hours.
Evaluate patients' appropriateness for Hospice services.
Carry out the admissions process of terminally ill patients.
Respond to patient care visits to assess and treat patient, as needed.
Conduct routine Homecare visits at the patients' place of residence.
Conduct pronouncement visits at the time of the death of the patient.
Complete chart audits, as requested.
Provide RN assistance at the Hospice of South Texas Inpatient Center, as needed.
