About The Position

Sheppard Pratt School and Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved, level V nonpublic school located on a historic campus in Towson, Maryland. We offer a year-round therapeutic educational and residential program for youths ages 12-18 with emotional and behavioral challenges. Our comprehensive program includes structured community and recreational activities, alongside full-day special and general education schooling. This role involves providing guidance and support to students in a residential treatment setting, assisting them in achieving goals, overcoming challenges, and finding paths to fulfilling lives. The position offers valuable experience and training in therapeutic approaches with children and adolescents in a structured psychiatric program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid driver's license at time of appointment and eligibility to meet Sheppard Pratt requirements to operate a vehicle are preferred for most positions.

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce student’s daily living skills and maintain structure and organization within the residential setting.
  • Organize daily recreational activities, ensuring students have access to fresh air, leisure activities, and exercise.
  • Encourage and reinforce behavior according to program standards.
  • Provide complete and accurate documentation.
