This position is responsible for supporting and backing up operators in the packaging process in accordance with operational manuals and quality criteria. The Weekend Packaging Utility Operator supports Packaging Operators by performing a variety of mechanical and manual tasks, and can act as a backup Packaging Operator. Specific tasks include case filling, manual palletization, packaging, bagging, case labeling, bag lot coding, case check weighing, sanitation, and supporting operators. The role involves operating all manual and automatic equipment associated with packaging, including palletization, case filling, packaging, and conveyors/scales. Responsibilities also include housekeeping of packaging machines and the plant area, checking equipment cleanliness, finalizing paperwork accurately, and utilizing the ERP System for inventory management. The operator must follow all quality guidelines, Master Sanitation Schedules, and maintain a food-safe, sanitary environment. Additional duties may include supporting other lines, disposing of waste, operating a forklift, and supporting other process functions to maximize plant efficiency. The role also requires executing the North Freeze Dry Vision, Mission, and Values, promoting a positive environment, providing back-up support for other roles, and being available for overtime.
