About The Position

This is a Weekend On Call DSP Opportunity for individuals seeking to supplement their income without committing to a full-time schedule. The role offers a guaranteed $150 for being available two weekends per month, with the potential to earn $25-$27 per hour. As a Weekend On-call Specialist, you will step in when other DSPs are unavailable, covering needs ranging from quick errands to full shifts. You will work one-on-one with adults with developmental disabilities, supporting them in living meaningful, self-directed lives. A Weekend Manager will field incoming requests and contact you when your assistance is needed. The role involves supporting multiple individuals living independently across the Portland Metro area. The company also offers comprehensive training, including orientation and tailored in-home training, with a training wage of $21/hr, paced to your experience and learning style.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
  • Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Willing and able to complete training in CPR/First Aid, medication administration, and Oregon Intervention System (OIS).
  • Must pass a criminal background check through Oregon DHS (initially and every two years).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must not be listed on the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Exclusion List.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with mobility and transfers, and use equipment like Hoyer lifts safely.
  • Comfortable with frequent bending, standing, and working in various home or community environments (including homes with pets).
  • Strong communication skills, including with individuals who have speech, vision, or hearing differences.
  • Able to respond to emergencies, including performing CPR in challenging conditions.
  • Willing to engage in light physical activities with the people you support (e.g., walks, games, outdoor activities).
