Weekend Nurse - LPN
About The Position
The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is looking for a compassionate Psychiatric Nurse - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) at the Hampton Roads Methadone Clinic in Newport News, Virginia. This part-time position provides an opportunity to support adults receiving medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder while working as part of a dedicated behavioral health team. Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
- A current Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
- One (1) year of experience administering medications or experience in a substance use treatment, psychiatric, or long-term care setting that includes the dispensing of narcotic medication.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications according to physician orders, treatment plans, and program protocols.
- Monitor clients for medication effectiveness, side effects, withdrawal symptoms, and changes in condition.
- Complete nursing assessments and accurately document observations and services provided.
- Assist the psychiatrist and treatment team with medication management and coordination of client care.
- Provide health education and supportive nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with counselors, providers, and other healthcare professionals to promote coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate medication administration records and required clinical documentation.
- Follow federal, state, and agency requirements governing opioid treatment programs.
- Promote a respectful, recovery-focused environment for individuals receiving services.
