This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment, following blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings. The technician will visually inspect and test machinery using electrical and electronic test equipment, listen for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions, and discuss machine operation with colleagues. Responsibilities include dismantling machines, installing new parts, repairing hydraulic and electrical equipment, and maintaining various machinery such as cranes, forklifts, saws, and welders. The job also requires cleaning and lubricating machine parts, fabricating structures from steel, wood, and other materials, and ensuring all equipment and machinery comply with OSHA and ANSI standards. Outdoor maintenance tasks like snow removal, landscaping, and housekeeping are also part of the role. Accurate data entry of completed work is essential, and the ability to work when equipment fails, potentially being on call 24 hours a day, is required. The technician must know how to operate the equipment they are expected to work on, and perform other duties as specified by their supervisor.
