About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, the Weekend Maintenance staff member is responsible for supporting facility operations at the Allison Cassens Early Childhood Development Center, Meyer and Niebur Centers. This position works on Saturdays and Sundays, averaging approximately 12 hours per weekend. This position helps maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment during weekend hours, ensuring a professional, respectful, and positive atmosphere for all members, participants, and guests.

Requirements

  • Six months or more related experience is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals as well as their safe and efficient uses.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and social and economic segments of the community.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), approximately 12 hours a weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general weekend facility support tasks, which may include meeting and program setup and takedown, minor repairs, groundskeeping, and other maintenance and custodial responsibilities as needed.
  • Records and reports all needed repairs and completes basic repairs as directed.
  • Ensures YMCA buildings and property are secure during weekend shifts and promptly reports incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
  • Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas at the Allison Cassens Early Childhood Development Center, Meyer and Niebur Centers including duties such as mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a pre-employment physical.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
