About The Position

This position conducts various cleaning tasks throughout production areas to aid in proper equipment performance. The role involves using various hand and powered tools, operating mobile equipment, and adhering to safety procedures. The cleaner will also be responsible for maintaining tools and PPE, and communicating with the maintenance team. Non-essential functions include following 5S/Continuous Improvement and quality initiatives.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Ability to read, write and use basic and advanced arithmetic.
Knowledgeable of various hand and electric tools to complete cleaning procedures.
Experience and ability to operate mobile equipment.
Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating/work order instructions.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate with others at all levels in both oral and written methods.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Effectively communicate with coworkers and perform job in a safe manner.
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach, push/pull, lift, and carry.
Use hands to handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Talk or hear.
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional technical and boiler schooling is preferred.

Responsibilities

Use various hand tools such as brooms, rakes, and powered tools such as vacuums and air wands to perform cleaning tasks.
Operate forklift and bobcat.
Adjust to various working conditions and spaces.
Be self-motivated and task oriented.
Efficiently complete task list as provided by the maintenance supervisor.
Follow standard work.
Communicate with maintenance crew leader and millwrights.
Maintain basic tool supply, coveralls, and other PPE or company provided items.
Determine proper safety procedures (LOTO, JSA, REACH) needed to safely and efficiently complete tasks.
Follow 5S/Continuous Improvement and quality initiatives with understanding basic production needs and initiatives.
