About The Position

The Telos cook provides well-balanced, healthy meals as directed by the dietician and the nursing director. The weekend cook is responsible to provide satisfying, healthy meals for up to 100 students and staff members.

Requirements

  • Organized, Dependable, Coachable, Proactive
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition
  • Must complete Direct Care Training
  • Current food-handler’s permit
  • Ability to create and prepare weekly meals
  • Ability to hold appropriate boundaries
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to safe-food handling and storage procedures
  • Provides special dietary needs as ordered by the MD, dietician, and nursing director
  • Offers students a variety and adequate amount of food to meet their dietary needs
  • Serves meals in a timely manner adhering to the Telos schedule
  • Helps to prepare extra-large meals for Family Days—five times per year
  • Ability to maintain a clean work environment
  • Completes other assignments as given by supervisor
