About The Position

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Weekend Housekeeper ensures the Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining the upkeep of their assigned area and equipment. This role involves performing various cleaning tasks, reporting needed repairs, ensuring building security, and maintaining supplies. Additionally, the housekeeper may set up furniture for events and builds positive relationships with members and staff.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
Ability to report and record maintenance requests
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment
Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
Must possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

Three months or more of related experience preferred
Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention certification (renewed annually)

Responsibilities

Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment
Perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, and general cleaning
Records and reports all needed repairs
Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies
May set up furniture for events
Builds and maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, volunteers, other staff, and the communities we serve
Performs other duties as assigned
