About The Position
The Alexandria Area YMCA is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join their housekeeping team. This part-time, hands-on role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the YMCA facility, ensuring it is ready for daily programs and community activities. The position involves routine and deep cleaning, organizing supplies, and identifying facility or maintenance concerns, contributing to a welcoming and well-functioning environment. It is ideal for someone who enjoys active work and takes pride in their contributions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and cleaning supplies.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in housekeeping, custodial, maintenance, or facilities work is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of YMCA facilities
- Use commercial cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively
- Maintain and organize cleaning supplies and equipment
- Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Work independently while also supporting a team-focused environment
