About The Position
Harmony Hill School (HHS) is a private, non-profit organization that provides education, residential care and day treatment services to adolescent males. Our beautiful school campus is located in Glocester, RI, just a 20-30 minute commute from many towns in the RI, CT, MA area. As a Weekend Cook, you will be part of the Food Service team that provides nutritious, well-balanced meals to students and staff. This is a 32 hour/week position with an initial work schedule of 11:30am-6:30pm on Sundays and Mondays and 7:00am-2:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- SafeServ/Food Safety Handler certification (or willingness and ability to obtain)
- Previous cooking experience required
- Must successfully complete required driving, criminal and child abuse/neglect pre-employment screenings and maintain favorable results during employment.
Nice To Haves
- experience in an institutional or commercial food service setting is preferred
Responsibilities
- Follow established menus, recipes, and any special dietary instructions to prepare, cook and serve daily meals and snacks to students and staff.
- Adhere to department guidelines to ensure the cleanliness, safety and organization of kitchen, food storage, and cafeteria area.
- Participate in various activities related to kitchen inventory, food deliveries, and quality control.
- Engage professionally with youth and staff to provide a positive customer service experience.
