About The Position

Golden Heart is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home and community-based support to individuals including seniors, veterans, and adults with intellectual disabilities across Iowa. We are seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to work two 16-hour weekend shifts, providing consistent, high-quality care in a home-like setting. DSPs provide hands-on support that helps clients live safely, independently, and with dignity in their homes and communities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of caregiving, DSP, or related experience required
• Ability to work two 16-hour weekend shifts
• Ability to perform physical job duties (lifting, standing, bending, etc.)
• Strong communication skills and a dependable, compassionate attitude

Responsibilities

• Personal care and assistance with daily living activities (ADLs)
• Meal preparation, housekeeping, and home management tasks
• Transportation to appointments and community activities
• Medication reminders (with training provided)
• Documentation of services provided
• Encouraging independence and supporting client goals
• Ensuring a safe and supportive environment throughout shifts
