Weekend Caregiver
About The Position
McKenney Home Care is seeking dependable Caregivers, HHAs, and CNAs for weekend opportunities serving clients in private homes through its Venice office. The family-owned private-duty home care agency serves Sarasota and Charlotte County. Weekend assignments vary and can be matched to caregivers’ availability, skills, experience, and comfort level. Options may include short visits, split shifts, standard shifts, and extended day or overnight shifts, including frequently available 12-hour opportunities. Consistent, ongoing assignments may also be available. Caregivers provide individualized, one-on-one support to help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes. The role includes personal care, companionship, assistance with daily tasks, following care plans, documentation, and communicating client changes or concerns. The agency offers 24/7 office and nursing support.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and a dependable, professional approach to caregiving.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Current hands-on CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Current TB test, or willingness to obtain one.
- Level 2 AHCA background screening, or willingness to complete it.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and safe mobility.
- Offer companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
- Assist with meal preparation, hydration, and medication reminders.
- Help with light housekeeping, laundry, errands, and maintaining a safe home environment.
- Follow each client’s individualized care plan and complete required documentation.
- Observe and communicate changes or concerns to the office team.
