About The Position

This position is responsible for completing daily tasks related to the general operations of the convenience store and gas station, as well as providing excellent customer service. The role involves a variety of duties, from assisting customers and maintaining store cleanliness to handling transactions and, in some cases, preparing food.

Requirements

  • Enrolled or graduated from Highschool or GED.
  • No specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers, providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
  • Assist customers in finding products, securing products, loading or unloading products.
  • Maintain clean and orderly stations, both interior and exterior, including restrooms, countertops, and floors.
  • Receive, verify, and store delivered merchandise in the appropriate storage area.
  • Unpack and stock shelves and coolers with merchandise.
  • Clean registers, restrooms, break rooms, and backrooms; sweep and mop floors.
  • Tend to supply needs.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the lot, including shoveling sidewalks of snow and spreading ice melt.
  • Hose down the parking lot, gas pump area, and sidewalks.
  • Fill outside towel holders and replenish window washer fluid.
  • Remove trash inside and out in a timely manner.
  • Assist in training new employees as needed.
  • Operate lottery ticket registers to verify wins or purchase new tickets.
  • Operate cash register accurately, scan products, and report improper cash levels.
  • Redeem promotional coupons, food stamps, receive cash, checks, complete credit-card charge transactions, and in-store charges.
  • Figure discounts, count back change, and issue receipts.
  • Place merchandise in bags or boxes and give packages to customers.
  • Cook food using ovens, stoves, griddles, and microwaves.
  • Prepare ingredients ensuring freshness by chopping, peeling, cutting, etc.
  • Follow all food health and safety standards.
  • Display food properly and monitor expiration dates and dispose of outdated food.
  • Understand and practice proper sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure the work area is always clean and neat.
  • Store food properly when not in use.
