About The Position

We are seeking applicants with weekday morning availability (e.g., Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 8 am to 12 pm) to join our team as Swim Instructors. In this role, you will provide quality swim instruction aligned with the American Red Cross Swim Lesson Curriculum. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of participant progress and communicating effectively with caregivers regarding expectations, skill development, and next steps. As a team member, you will contribute to building confidence, friendships, and skills among participants, acting as a dependable coach. Attendance at staff meetings is also required.

Requirements

Knowledge of all 4 competitive strokes and 2 safety strokes.
Experience working with children.
Ability to pass a traditional swim test demonstrating moderate ability in 4 competitive strokes.
Ability to provide in water correction effectively.
Minimum 16 years old.
Current in either Red Cross, YMCA or Ellis and current certification in CPR, First Aid, AED and O2.
Must be able to swim 50 yards (2 pool lengths) of one stroke or a combination of strokes.
Must be able to tread water without hands for 1 minute.
Must demonstrate knowledge of basic swim techniques.

Nice To Haves

Willing to obtain proper training certifications
