About The Position
We are seeking a skilled wedding dress specialist to join a network of independent alteration professionals. The role focuses on precise tailoring of bridal gowns and working carefully with delicate fabrics. Specialists can accept bookings that fit their schedule, receive local bridal clients matched to their profile, and work from a home studio without needing a storefront.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience tailoring bridal wear or fine formalwear.
- Comfort working with multi-layer garments and structured construction.
- Accurate, repeatable measuring and fitting technique.
- Reliable communication with brides and clear delivery timelines.
Responsibilities
- Hem, take in, and let out wedding dresses across a range of silhouettes, including A-line, ball gown, mermaid, sheath, and fit-and-flare.
- Build custom bustles, including American, French, ballroom, and over bustles, suited to each gown's train.
- Adjust bodices; alter straps and necklines; replace or add cups; and install or repair zippers and lacing.
- Work with delicate fabrics, including lace, tulle, silk, satin, organza, and beaded or sequined overlays.
- Communicate reliably with brides and provide clear delivery timelines.
