Website Content Intern - Summer 2026

GOOD360Alexandria, VA
Hybrid

About The Position

Good360 is looking for a Website Content Intern to support our Website Manager for an 8-week summer internship (mid-June through mid-August 2026). This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who wants to build real digital marketing and web skills in a mission-driven environment. You will work directly on Good360's live website, contributing to three defined project areas: content publishing and formatting, SEO optimization, and website design alignment. By the end of the internship, you will have a portfolio-ready body of published work and a practical understanding of how digital strategy supports a nonprofit organization's mission. This role is part of Good360's Marketing & Communications team and offers direct mentorship from the Website Manager through weekly 1:1 check-ins and structured feedback throughout the program.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student with relevant coursework in web design, web development, digital marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Problem Solver: You figure things out. When you hit a wall, your first instinct is to find a way around it, not to wait for someone to hand you the answer.
  • Curious & Eager to Learn: You’re genuinely interested in how websites, content, and digital marketing work. You ask good questions, pay attention to details, and bring energy to the work.
  • Dependable & Communicative: You follow through, meet deadlines, and flag issues early. You communicate clearly and don’t let things fall through the cracks.
  • Attention to Detail: Web publishing and SEO work rewards care. Typos, broken formatting, and missed fields have real impact. You notice things.
  • Mission-Driven: You care about more than the work itself. You're drawn to the idea of applying your skills in the service of something meaningful, and you have a genuine interest in the nonprofit sector, social impact, or purposeful giving.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with WordPress or other CMS platforms
  • Exposure to SEO concepts or tools (Yoast, SEMrush, Google Search Console)
  • Experience with content or blog writing
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, or other design tools—graphic design skills are a bonus for creating web-ready visuals
  • Prior use of Claude or other AI tools in a creative or professional context
  • Basic familiarity with Google Analytics or web performance data

Responsibilities

  • Format and publish blogs, press releases, and impact stories in WordPress following Good360’s design standards and brand guidelines
  • Apply consistent heading structure, media guidelines, and layout formatting across content pages
  • Maintain accuracy and quality across all published content, flagging discrepancies to the Website Manager
  • Complete Yoast SEO fields for new and existing posts: meta titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, and social sharing previews
  • Conduct keyword research to support ongoing content and SEO strategy
  • Deliver a structured SEO audit report by Week 6, summarizing gaps and opportunities
  • Audit and update older website pages to align with Good360’s new homepage design format, working from a pre-scoped page list
  • Apply updates consistently using a defined style guide with clear scope boundaries
  • Maintain an issues log documenting inconsistencies and proposed solutions; present findings to Website Manager at program close

Benefits

  • Hands-on experience publishing and optimizing content on a live nonprofit website with a national audience
  • A working understanding of on-page SEO and how it connects to visibility and impact
  • Practical exposure to AI-assisted content workflows using Claude
  • A portfolio-ready body of work: published pages, SEO improvements, and design updates
  • Direct mentorship from Good360’s Website Manager with regular 1:1 feedback
  • A front-row view of how digital strategy supports a mission-driven organization
  • Good documentation, learning agreements, or supervisor evaluations required by your institution
