About The Position

Position is responsible for positioning and securing foundation within the frame. Uses manual and powered tools to clip, tie and/or staple these components into place. Obtains frame and applies propex to bottom or any other prescribed bottom, maintains proper distance from front rail, side center rails, and back center rails. Ensures quality and uniform workmanship by properly stretching all buttons and backs with the appropriate tool. Stretching is done side to side and front to back. Applies cardboard to the arms of product and Thumbroll as needed. Does constant inspection of his/her own work to maintain highest quality workmanship and notifies supervision if any quality problems occur. Does rush pieces as marked by authorized personnel from staging or as asked by Lead Person so that staging area maintains a supply of work for Upholstery. Prepares frames for the 8 Way Hand Tiers, who will apply the coils. Maintains a production level, with quality of work produced meeting the company's quality standards as determined by departmental inspection, supervision, and final inspection. Carries out any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor. Properly maintains any company owned tools or equipment and reports any problems with these items to Supervisor promptly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous webbing experience preferred
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling and twisting throughout the day
  • Continuous repetitive motions requiring grasping, pushing/pulling and fine hand manipulation
  • Occasional reaching at or below shoulder level may be required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently; rarely up to 100 lbs.
