About The Position

As a Web Press – Operator II, you are responsible for supporting Operator I’s by maintaining all maintenance and training programs for the press and assist in maintaining inventories of supplies and spare parts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience in Press Operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently while staying organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works independently and collaboratively with sound judgment and minimal supervision, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Collaborates effectively in team settings and communicates clearly with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quickly learn and apply new computer applications, automated systems (i.e. robots), and related technologies.
  • Follows verbal and written instructions accurately and completes required training or certifications as needed.
  • Able to lift and move materials weighing 30-75 pounds and handle objects or equipment using hands and fingers for most of the work shift.
  • Capable of standing or walking for up to 8-12 hours, depending on the assigned shift, with occasional sitting, kneeling, squatting, or stair climbing as needed.
  • Performs repetitive material handling tasks and may be required to do concentrated or detailed work for extended periods.
  • Must be willing to work beyond standard business hours when required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating, cleaning, and maintaining press equipment, changing paper rolls, and performing assigned production tasks.
  • Inspect work and sample copies consistently to ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Verify production counts and ensure all Autocount entries, printouts, and related documentation are accurate.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the press area and ensure skid flags and logs are properly completed.
  • Support and follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, ergonomics, and chemical handling.
  • Participate in and help administer maintenance programs, ensuring logs, charts, and reports are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with training new and existing crew members, monitoring progress and development.
  • Ensure necessary resources such as supplies and materials are available and report shortages or issues to the Supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned.
