About The Position

Contributes to the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and solutions supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with a focus on implementing user interface (UI/UX) designs and system enhancements in SharePoint Online portals and Power Apps. Works independently and as part of a team, and supports Section 508 accessibility compliance for web and application deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with at least 3–5 years of relevant web development experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience implementing UI/UX designs and system enhancements in SharePoint Online portals and Power Apps.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards.
  • Ability to work autonomously and contribute to team efforts in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with .NET (C#), ASP.NET, and other modern web frameworks.
  • Hands-on Section 508 compliance testing experience.
  • DHS Trusted Tester certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Implement UI/UX designs and system enhancements in SharePoint Online portals and Power Apps.
  • Develop and maintain web applications and related solutions.
  • Support Section 508 compliance testing so that web and application deliverables meet federal accessibility standards.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets project requirements.
  • Take part in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality and functionality.
  • Work with team members so deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in web applications.
