About The Position

Leidos is seeking a junior Web Developer to join an existing team performing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and development activities for websites and applications. This role involves assessments and consultations on Java web tools, O&M of existing applications, server management, and development of new applications, which reside in both physical and cloud environments. The Web Developer will work closely with project managers, the development team, and information system security managers, while priorities will be set by the Sponsor’s GTM and managed by the Sponsor project manager. The role requires occasional on-call duty and involves assessing and validating software requirements, providing architectural design and web development support, participating in software design discussions, and recommending tools and technologies. Responsibilities include redesigning existing applications to add features, optimize, scale, or improve stability and performance, creating and managing software systems in AWS, and providing O&M and content management support for Sponsor’s Web and software sites. The Web Developer will work within Agile project management methodologies.

Requirements

Must have a TS/SCI with Poly to be considered
Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience OR Master's and at least 6 years of relatable experience.
Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining software applications and systems.
Experience identifying and validating requirements for Software or Web sites.
Experience working in cloud AWS architecture.
Experience adding new features, optimizing, scaling, or improving stability and performance of applications or Web.
Experience using JavaScript (JS).
Experience with Java (e.g., Springboot, Maven, Apache).
Experience with Typescript (e.g., Angular, NestJS, React, Vue).
Experience with Javascript (NodeJS, Express, etc.).
Experience with AWS Cloud Services (S3, RDS, SQS, Lambda, EC2, etc.).
Familiarization with CI/CD.
Linux proficiency.
Experience with MySQL or equivalent (Postgres, SQL).
Experience developing complex data models.
Experience optimizing queries.
Experience using Object Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks such as TypeORM for typescript.

Responsibilities

Perform Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and development activities for websites and applications.
Conduct assessments and consultations on the design of Java web tools.

Create, manage, and maintain software systems in AWS.
Provide O&M and content management support for Sponsor’s Web, software sites.

Provide occasional on call duty as needed.
