About The Position

In conjunction with the Web Developer team, design and develop digital communications that accurately reflect goals, objectives and identity of the organization in accordance with current technology standards and using the tools and framework in place within Unity. This role requires advanced proficiency on both PC and Macintosh platforms, as well as cross-browser compatibility and integration. The designer will be highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and will develop, design and update Unity.org and related websites, maintaining a consistent look and feel across sites. They will collaborate with web developers and IT to produce web-specific applications, create forms and other pages that involve CSS and other HTML coding, and assist in developing from concept to implementation custom web pages, graphics and content. The role also involves assisting with wireframes, overall navigation flow and template layout/functionality, managing, organizing and prioritizing multiple jobs by ensuring all assigned projects are produced on time, accurate, and to client specifications, and meeting aggressive deadlines and handling multiple priorities, with the ability to adapt quickly to change. Adherence to all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and the utilization of an electronic time management system, is required. Non-essential functions include using Google Analytics to improve site performance and assisting team members of the department on other projects, as needed.

Requirements

  • Five years’ experience in web design and interface with overall knowledge of internet development and site maintenance.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, responsive web design and practices, latest UI/UX practices, and working knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Demonstrated experience creating web and application-specific assets including, but not limited to, images, video, icons, and banners.
  • Experience developing on Drupal or equivalent CMS platform.
  • Experience using MailChimp, preferably including A/B testing.
  • Experience coding email communications with table based/inline CSS layouts.
  • Working knowledge of social media site design requirements and standards.
  • Advanced proficiency on both PC and Macintosh platforms, as well as cross-browser compatibility and integration.
  • Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • PHP and web server knowledge a plus.
