Web Application Developer (Magento/Adobe Commerce Experience Required)
About The Position
The organization operates a high-volume online marketplace focused on providing collectors and investors with a wide selection of items at competitive prices. As the company continues to scale, they are investing heavily in platform performance, infrastructure, and customer experience. This role combines hands-on Magento development with technical leadership and project management responsibilities. The individual will serve as the internal technical owner of the Magento platform while managing external development teams and vendors. The ideal candidate is comfortable both writing and reviewing code while leading strategic initiatives that improve platform performance and scalability.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Magento (Adobe Commerce or Magento Open Source)
- Experience managing external development teams or vendors
- Ability to review and validate development code and technical implementations
- Understanding of Magento architecture, extensions, and integrations
- Familiarity with APIs and third-party eCommerce integrations
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to balance hands-on development work with technical leadership responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills when working with both technical and non-technical teams
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on Magento development including configuration updates, enhancements, and bug fixes
- Support both front-end and back-end improvements including themes, modules, and extensions
- Troubleshoot performance issues, site errors, and platform functionality
- Support staging, QA, and production deployment processes
- Review and validate external vendor code prior to deployment
- Help optimize site speed, checkout flow, and overall user experience
- Ensure security best practices and platform updates are maintained
- Manage and coordinate work with external Magento development partners
- Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables for development initiatives
- Translate business goals into technical requirements for development teams
- Prioritize development initiatives and manage the platform roadmap
- Oversee testing, release management, and deployment processes
- Improve internal documentation and development workflows
- Evaluate Magento architecture to ensure scalability and long-term performance
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements
- Recommend platform upgrades, integrations, and tools that enhance the customer experience
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for Magento and related eCommerce systems
