This project offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of DUNE-GPT, a web-based application that supports documentation search, workflow automation, and data-intensive computing for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). The student will focus on front-end web development and backend integration, helping build user-friendly interfaces while also supporting automated workflows on high-performance computing (HPC) resources at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility and scheduled maintenance tasks on Fermilab systems. The work involves improving the application’s web interface, maintaining data ingestion and indexing pipelines, and supporting reliable operation through automation and monitoring. This project provides practical experience in scientific software development, web technologies, workflow automation, and research cyberinfrastructure, with direct impact on tools used by a large international physics collaboration.
