About The Position

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with over 100 years of history. As a leading global manufacturer of woven textiles for residential and contract markets, we supply fabrics to furniture manufacturers, distributors, and major retailers. This role is responsible for removing cloth from looms and maintaining cleanliness within the Weave Room.

Requirements

Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
Meet all pre-employment requirements.
Basic reading, writing, and math.
Must be able to consistently lift 25+ lbs.

Responsibilities

Remove cloth from looms and keep Weave Room clean.
Vacuum/clean assigned looms and creels.
Vacuum overhead lights in weaver and warp alley.
Keep floors swept clean throughout shift.
Collect selvage waste and take to recycling area.
Clean assigned stairs.
Clean air conditioning vents.
Doff cloth when looms flagged.
Advise supervisor if no ticket flagged is located.
Do not doff cloth to cloth room without ticket.
Empty trash cans as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work scheduled overtime.
Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
Maintain 5 S standards.
