About The Position

The Weatherization Crew Leader is responsible for installing energy efficiency and home performance measures according to standard work practices, including insulation, air sealing, and window insulation. This role requires 100% accountability for job site execution from planning and material delivery to managing labor, keeping the project on schedule and within budget. The Crew Leader will work with the Production Manager to determine workflow and daily priorities, assign tasks to crew members, complete quality checks, and manage crew time. Safety, quality control, and site cleanliness are paramount. The position also involves performing routine vehicle safety inspections, ensuring proper care and maintenance of all company equipment, and maintaining professional client interactions. A key aspect of the role is mentoring new Crew Members and providing on-the-job training.

Requirements

  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients and staff
  • Ability to analyze and solve practical problems
  • Driver's License
  • Ability to read work orders, and ensure quality installations
  • Ability to use tablets and cell phones to document work
  • Ability to track and summarize project process and fill out paperwork as needed
  • Ability to communicate with customers, crew, and company management
  • Ability to keep equipment, materials and crew members organized to achieve job goals in a timely manner
  • Arrive on time, with appropriate clothing/uniforms, personal hand tools and personal protective gear.
  • Perform all required duties to standard work practices.
  • Attend all assigned training and safety sessions.
  • Respectful and Professional behavior on all job sites including, but not limited to: No cursing, No smoking of any kind, No judging, No fighting.
  • Clock-in to correct job site and select the correct task/work activities on app/company provided phone.
  • Report any equipment failures, breakdowns and/or operating issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Chauffer’s License (HEAVILY RECOMMENDED)
  • Knowledge of house systems – roofing, attic ventilation, siding windows
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems a plus – small engines, blowers, generators, insulation machines
  • Desire to continually learn more about building science, home performance, and people management
  • Experience with Blower Doors, Combustion Analysis, and Infrared Imaging a plus
  • Construction trade experience is appreciated; roofs, drywall, siding, windows, etc.
  • Aptitude and a positive can-do attitude

Responsibilities

  • Installs Energy Efficiency and Home Performance measures to standard work practices including Insulation, air sealing, window insulation, etc.
  • Manages job site execution from beginning to completion, including planning and delivering materials, managing labor, and keeping projects on schedule and budget.
  • Works with Production Manager to determine workflow and daily priorities, with daily check-ins.
  • Assigns crew member tasks, completes quality checks, and manages crew member time.
  • Manages job site safety, QC checks, cleanliness, and daily worksite walk-arounds.
  • Performs routine vehicle safety inspections and submits inspection and maintenance reports.
  • Ensures proper care, maintenance, cleaning, and storage of all company equipment.
  • Maintains professional client interaction during projects.
  • Serves as a mentor to new Crew Members, providing on-the-job training.
  • Documents all work, including before, during, and after photos.
  • Documents and shares out-of-scope issues in real-time.
  • Uploads all photos and work documents for projects to electronic folders.
  • Reports any accidents or property damage.
