About The Position

Community Action is looking for a Weatherization Coordinator to join their Weatherization team. This role is responsible for reducing energy consumption and improving the safety of homes through initial inspections. The individual will oversee daily operations of Energy Auditors of the Weatherization Program and work closely with the Program Administrator to ensure production goals are met. This involves gathering empirical data, conducting tests, and determining appropriate improvements under NDEE guidelines. The coordinator will also verify completed weatherization work meets specifications and standards, determining any corrective actions needed to ensure the safety, comfort, and energy savings of building occupants.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have (1) Lead Safe RRP, (2) OSHA -30, and (3) BPI Energy Auditor certifications.
• Valid Nebraska Driver’s License and good driving record required.
• Knowledge of Weatherization procedures, guidelines, products, regulations and terminology.
• Knowledge of general electrical, plumbing, structural and repair standards.
• Knowledge of Building and Safety Codes and Regulations.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate English effectively.
• Sensitivity to the experiences, needs, and strengths of low-income and diverse populations, and individuals with disabilities.

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years experience with and knowledge of the building trade preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily work for the weatherization team to help meet program goals and deadlines.
• Supervise, train, and support Weatherization Initial Inspectors and other program staff.
• Review home inspections, energy audits, work orders, bids, and related paperwork for accuracy and timely completion.
• Answer contractor questions and coordinate with contractors to keep projects moving.
• Conduct final quality control inspections to confirm that completed work meets program standards.
• Document needed corrections, follow up with contractors, and maintain complete client files.
• Monitor the quality of field work and communicate with the Program Administrator and state technical advisors about program requirements.
