About The Position

Oversee the planning and execution of all activities within Wealth Trust Operations and collaborate with client facing and administration to shape the overall Wealth experience. Provide strategic direction for the trust accounting platform and other correlated applications to ensure optimum efficiency, customer satisfaction, scalability, expense control and risk mitigation. Collaborate with Wealth Management leaders to understand business growth strategies and align delivery to support those goals while meeting or exceeding operational expectations. Partner with risk and compliance teams to stay abreast of latest regulatory updates and Truist policies, ensure procedures are aligned, and oversee testing and exams. Partner with external vendors to support the needs of the trust business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education training and work related experience
  • Ten years of experience within bank operations areas
  • Strong leadership skills to include excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills, leading to trusting relationships with teammates and business partners
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory environment.
  • Proven strategic and tactical management skills with ability to engage and influence direct and indirect reports and peers
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively, and creatively while exercising sound judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to deconstruct and reconstruct workflows, teams, etc. with the intent to mitigate risks, improve efficiencies, and elevate client experience

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree from an accredited college or university (i.e. MS; MBA; PhD; etc.)
  • Knowledge of trust accounting, order management, investment performance systems, etc.
  • Trust/Financial Service certifications (CSOP, CTFA, CISP, etc.) from an accredited provider

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a leadership team to create consistent teammate experience, develop departmental succession plans, administer compensation activities, and manage finances.
  • Own first line risk and alignment to risk appetite as well as governance plan to ensure departmental compliance with applicable Truist policies.
  • Promote culture of high performance and transformational improvement; plan and execute strategic change programs that create capabilities and drive efficiency and improve the advisor and client experience.
  • Manage all internal/external audit and compliance inquiries related to Trust Operations.
  • Develop partnerships and serve as primary liaison to other Truist divisions (Wealth and non-Wealth) to foster cross-functional collaboration and success.
  • Interpret new, modified and existing governmental regulations to ensure overall compliance for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Manage and evaluate technology vendor relationships to maximize opportunity, ensure compliance and accountability with contractual standards, and determine directional shifts in vendor selection and strategy.
  • Oversee and expand managed services vendor relationships to maximize quality and efficiency.
  • Partner with industry professionals to create a network that allows for collaboration on projects and industry initiatives.
  • Manage applications/application suites within Truist standards and ensuring functional capabilities meet and/or evolve to meet business needs.
