About The Position

Rockefeller Capital Management was established in 2018 as a leading independent financial advisory services firm. Originally founded in 1882 as the family office of John D. Rockefeller, the Firm has evolved to offer strategic advice to ultra- and high-net-worth individuals and families, institutions, and corporations from offices in 35 markets throughout the United States, as well as an office in London. The Firm oversees $228 billion in client assets as of July 31, 2026. A Private Advisor team is hiring a Wealth Solutions Director, a senior planning professional responsible for all wealth planning functions for clients, including estate and tax planning, cash flow management, insurance advisory, employee benefits, retirement planning, and charitable planning. This individual will partner closely with Private Advisors to deliver holistic financial planning and comprehensive advisory solutions that help clients achieve their long-term financial goals and optimize the intergenerational transfer of wealth through customized strategies. In addition to leading complex planning engagements, the Wealth Solutions Director will oversee a team of Financial Planning and Investment Associates, with responsibility for their development, workflow management, and the quality of planning and investment support provided across client service teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in financial planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team of planning and/or investment professionals
  • Experience maintaining at least 30 client relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to multitask and reprioritize within tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills on complex matters, both written and oral
  • Extensive knowledge of Family Office Financial Planning
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach to problem-solving and client service
  • Strong collaboration and partnership skills
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team, set priorities across competing client service teams, and delegate effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) and/or LLM strongly preferred
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner) certification, Master of Business Administration (MBA) considered
  • Experience using eMoney preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Private Advisors to determine and understand clients’ financial objectives, design custom plans, and strategize and execute the financial plans. Cadence of client meetings to review the plans are on a quarterly basis.
  • Identify planning needs beyond a clients’ financial objectives to identify additional service offering for clients and implement bespoke strategies tailored to ensure continued wealth for generations to come.
  • Provide a quarterly deliverable to clients comprised of their net-worth, cash flow, risk management/insurance summaries, estate planning and tax planning.
  • Offer and review insurance strategies, employee benefits and retirement planning, and charitable planning.
  • Coordination and oversight with other Family Office Solutions such as bill pay and CFO analytics.
  • Be an integral part of the growth of Advisor teams’ planning and advisory capabilities
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of Financial Planning and Investment Associates dedicated to the various client service teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and workload allocation
  • Set the standards, workflows, and quality controls for planning deliverables and investment support across all client service teams
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex planning matters and represent the planning function in team and firm-level strategy discussions
