About The Position

Elinesky Schuett Private Wealth of RBC Dominion Securities is seeking a Wealth Planning Specialist to join their entrepreneurial and fast-growing team. This role involves architecting comprehensive wealth planning solutions for high net worth clients, supporting the team's wealth planning strategy, and establishing expertise in complex financial planning. The team's mission is to improve lives and give more meaning to money through world-class investment management, wealth management, and client service experiences, with active community involvement. As an integral member of the ES Private Wealth team, the Wealth Planning Specialist will partner with Senior Wealth Planning Specialists, Advisors, Associates, and internal/external partners to deliver comprehensive financial planning and wealth management expertise to High Net Worth (HNW) clients. Responsibilities include thorough client discovery, coordination with specialized partners, managing complex financial planning situations, and serving as a trusted resource for the team.

Requirements

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Designation
  • 10+ years of securities industry and complex wealth/financial planning experience
  • Demonstrated skills in providing world-class client service that is professional, warm, thoughtful, and proactive
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential information with professionalism
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to present confidently to diverse audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designations such as FEA, CPA, CGA, CMA, LLB, TEP, Master's in Tax (M.Tax), or Completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course
  • Willingness to continue education or pursue more advanced tax and financial planning designations
  • Investment and insurance industry experience
  • Specific experience with RBC Dominion Securities and its applications
  • Experience with Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans for qualifying clients based on complexity, money in motion, and insurance solutions, and provide ongoing wealth support to team members and clients, including single-issue meetings and strategic guidance.
  • Prepare detailed financial and wealth plans every three to five years based on needs, coordinate internal partner meetings (Family Office, HNW, Will & Estate, Philanthropy, Private Banking, Commercial Banking, Financial Literacy, Elder Care, etc.), and facilitate proactive discussions with external advisors (tax, legal, etc.). Serve as the connective tissue between clients, partners, and trusted professionals for a family office solution.
  • Coordinate new insurance opportunity meetings with prospects, clients, and the estate planning specialist team, manage annual insurance touchpoints, work alongside the internal insurance champion on policy administration, and serve as liaison on all in-force and new insurance matters.
  • Answer wealth planning questions across the team (tax, insurance, financial planning), raise knowledge and comfort levels on complex issues across the ES Private Wealth team through lunch-and-learns and educational content sharing, and provide support for digital content, client presentations, and partner seminars.
  • Build and foster relationships with Centers of Influence (both internal and external partners), make impactful introductions to advance team goals, and continuously review and improve existing wealth planning, financial planning, and insurance management processes to enhance capabilities.
