A WayPoint Center Coordinator, WayPoint Initiative (WCCWI) assists clients who visit UWBG WayPoint Centers. The role of the WayPoint Coordinator, WayPoint Initiative (WCWI) is to assist clients who visit the UWBG WayPoint locations. UWBG WayPoint Centers are sites strategically located throughout our communities to serve and provide a multi-tiered service delivery approach that connect clients to financial education and financial literacy, free income tax counseling and preparation, and other programmatic services that lead individuals and families towards sustainability, stability, and a thriving lifestyle of success.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalency required.
  • Fluent bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • Minimum of two years of continuous work experience in an office environment required.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and enjoy working with the public.
  • Is empathetic and possesses the soft skills required to serve vulnerable populations with dignity and respect.
  • Is flexible and willing to work occasional evenings/nights; Saturday shift is sometimes required.
  • A valid Kentucky driver’s license is required as well as access to a reliable, insured automobile to be used for work-related travel in the Central Kentucky area.
  • Within 30 days of employment, the WayPoint Coordinator must earn the Money Management Essentials Certificate from the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education.
  • Within 60 days of employment the WayPoint Coordinator must earn the following certificates, CPR/First aid, First Aid for Opioid Overdose, and Mental health first aid.
  • Any candidate offered a position may be required to pass pre-employment screenings as mandated by UWBG. These screenings may include a national background check, language proficiency testing, and a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.

Nice To Haves

  • Work in human services, case management, counseling, eligibility determination, social services, non-profit, and oversight is preferred.
  • Knowledge of current conditions and history of the neighborhoods being served and surrounding nonprofit organizations is highly preferred.
  • Resident of one of the counties being served (past or present) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary site coordinator or employee of record responsible for: day-to-day management and operations of the center, the routine implementation and execution of standard operational procedures, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer satisfaction and service, and maintaining a professional and inviting workplace environment that is clean and orderly.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact to address client needs.
  • Collaborates with community partners to provide onsite programs and services within the center.
  • Performs professional assessment (intake) for clients through a multi-tiered service delivery approach that connects them to appropriate service providers and subject matter expertise (SME).
  • Collaborates with the UWBG 2-1-1 (24/7 365) Health & Human Services Referral network of professionals to access partner services and referrals accordingly.
  • Provides public-facing engagement as an UWBG ambassador and community advocate for supporting and transforming the life of others.
  • Understands and recognizes the need for growth and expansion opportunities of UWBG program initiatives and occasionally serves as a UWBG representative in the community.
  • Adapts to the flexibility needed to work between assigned Waypoint centers and community events/site and other Waypoint centers.
  • Serves as the custodian for managing documentation for organizational purposes to include management and reporting for federal and non-federal grants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
